Service Technician / Small Engine Mechanic

Vernon Dell Tractor Sales Co. in East Liverpool, OH. is looking for an experienced small engine mechanic to work on Outdoor Power Equipment - lawn & garden equipment - tractors, mowers, snow blowers, 2-cycle hand held, compact utility tractors, UTV's and ATV's. Individual must be reliable, responsible and trustworthy, and have past experience working in a dealership environment. This is a full time position. We do not hire seasonal employees. Job Function:

Independently performs basic/complex diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealership owned outdoor power equipment.

Responsibilities:

•Performs basic/complex outdoor power equipment diagnostics and determines what repairs are needed.

•Performs basic/complex outdoor power equipment repairs as requested by the Service Manager.

•Participates in all job-related training and development.

•Prepares shop tickets and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.

•Maintains current product knowledge of John Deere, Toro, New Holland, Stihl and competitive products.

•Performs pre-delivery set-up and inspection on new equipment as required.

•Maintains a clean and safe working environment and performs job duties with a good attitude.

Requirements:

•Proven knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in the repair of outdoor power equipment.

•Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.

•Experience in related field

•Skilled in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.

•High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

•Must be computer literate.

•Valid driver’s license required.

•Possess good written and verbal communication skills.

•Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. and work bent-over repeatedly.
